Arriving early?  Mobile Asia Congress offers pre-event sessions.  Don’t miss these opportunities to start experiencing the industry’s best event before it officially starts.

Mobile Messaging Security – The Highest Priority for Mobile Networks
Monday 14 November
14:00 – 17:00

Location:
Room S424

At Mobile World Congress in February the GSMA identified that messaging security is a high priority for mobile networks in 2011.The prediction has proved true with SMS-borne mobile threat levels rising and mobile botnets, virus and phishing attacks being experienced by subscribers in Asia in increasing numbers. To help combat this rising tide of spam and mobile malware the GSMA and Cloudmark partnered in Spring 2011 to launch the GSMA Spam Reporting Service to give MNOs around the globe a subscribers' eye view of spam and messaging attacks within their networks.

This event aims to demonstrate how collaboration between networks in the region will better protect subscribers on a country level and will help raise understanding around the impact SMS spam has on the mobile industry, its network and its subscribers.

This complimentary session is open to all. Please register your interest at srs@gsm.org.

Room S222

10:00 – 12:30      Session 1 – Open to all
12:30 - 14:00       Networking Lunch – Open to all
14:00 - 16:30       Session 2 – Open to MNOs only

Near Field Communication technology has been here for a few years now, and with several commercial applications of SIM‐based NFC actively launched over the last year, and many more in the pipeline, the momentum for more NFC services is growing exponentially. One of the biggest challenges facing the adoption of NFC, as a day to day technology, is how to drive the scale of service rollout across all service industries. They key to success within those markets where SIM‐based NFC has been successfully launched has been the collaboration between both mobile and service industries to make it happen and to ensure that those services put in place are fully interoperable leaving the door open for future growth.  Find out more about how the GSMA are facilitating this process globally at our seminars.

Session 1 and the Lunch are complimentary sessions open to all persons interested in the development of NFC.
