Event Lighlights

The 2011 GSMA Mobile Asia Congress brought together the leadership of Asian mobile operators and key players in the broader mobile ecosystem to engage and challenge the industry on the topic of Mobile Intelligence.

Held 16-17 November 2011 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, attendees at Mobile Asia Congress discussed strategic and technological industry issues, with an emphasis on the way Asia displays mobile intelligence through innovation, advancement and adoption.

Keynote sessions and conference discussion topics touched on all areas of the industry, including:
  • “Creating a Connected World”
  • “Mobile Operating Systems & Applications: Redefining Mobile Ecosystems”
  • “Future View: New Services for New Devices”

Gold and Platinum Pass holders will be able to download the conference presentations beginning Tuesday, 22 November.

In addition to this insightful conference, attendees were given opportunities to network with one another and seek out new ideas, products and partners in the Mobile Asia Congress Exhibition. Attendees were encouraged to set up meetings and begin discussions before the event using My MAC, a social networking tool exclusively for MAC attendees.

Mobile application developers once again joined the event this year as part of App Planet, the ‘Centre of the Apps Universe’ in Asia. Through App Bytes, developers were able to learn from and connect with the creators of the platforms and tools used to create mobile apps, the industry’s hottest trend.

The Peak Lookout was the exciting backdrop for Wednesday’s MAC Networking Party, an event which allowed attendees to network while savouring Hong Kong’s cuisine and traditions.

Selected sessions and videos of the event will soon be featured on Mobile World Live, the GSMA’s online portal which serves as the voice of the mobile communications industry throughout the year.
